Psychiatrist Reviewer – Utilization Review – Non-clinical (Remote, 1099)
Summary
RediMinds is seeking a psychiatrist with experience doing UR/IRO work to join our physician panel to review adult and pediatric psychiatric cases for healthcare plans.
RediMinds is a tech-savy company that has built a successful platform for those on their physician panel to easily perform utilization reviews. The volume of behavioral health cases is rising, and there is a need for more psychiatrists to join our physician panel. Physicians can work at their own pace and are compensated on a per case basis. This is a great opportunity for those part-time and full-time practicing psychiatrists that want additional income to provide expert reviews.
What You’ll Do
- Support utilization management activities by reviewing clinical documentation and determining the medical necessity of behavioral health services.
- Cite supporting guidelines and literature
- Draft clear, concise rationales and communicate determinations within defined timelines.
- Collaborate with our team by sharing feedback our processes to continually improve our case management platform.
What We’re Looking For
- Board Certified (ABMS or AOA) in Psychiatry, Addiction Medicine, and/or Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
- At least 5 years post-medical school of clinical practice experience, with direct patient care in the last 1 year.
- Active medical license (multi-state preferred).
- Experience performing utilization reviews or peer reviews within a healthcare plan, managed care environment or other UR/UM companies.
- Ability to work efficiently and meet turnaround deadlines for utilization review determinations.
- Good research and writing skills; comfort with deadlines and objective, evidence-based decision-making.
- Reliable home office setup, secure internet, and familiarity with independent contracting (1099).
