About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and emotionally intelligent Clinician Coordinator to serve as the central point of support for our panel of clinicians for our Independent Review Organization (IRO). This role is ideal for someone who excels in executive-level administration, manages details with impeccable accuracy, and communicates with professionalism and warmth.

You will lead the coordination of recruiting, credentialing, onboarding, and ongoing engagement of clinical reviewers, ensuring they have everything they need to participate in independent medical reviews. You will also help maintain compliance with URAC IRO standards and state and federal requirements.

This is a critical Operations role that requires discretion, strong judgment, and the ability to work gracefully with busy clinicians and internal leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Reviewer Recruitment & Outreach

  • Conduct targeted outreach to qualified clinicians and manage incoming interest from prospective reviewers.
  • Screen prospective reviewers for required qualifications, specialties, licensure, board certification, and clinical experience.
  • Coordinate interviews, information-gathering calls, and follow-up communication.

 

Credentialing & Compliance

  • Manage credentialing documentation and primary source verification
  • Track renewals, expirations, attestations, and required documents with precision.
  • Maintain an accurate, up-to-date reviewer roster that meets URAC and state regulatory standards.

 

Onboarding & Reviewer Support

  • Coordinate onboarding communication, training logistics, and account/system access.
  • Prepare clear, professional correspondence, instructional materials, and reports.
  • Serve as primary administrative contact for reviewer communications and scheduling.

 

Operational Excellence

  • Maintain organized digital records and support audit preparation.
  • Anticipate needs, flag risks, and support leadership across credentialing, operations, and medical review functions.
  • Perform other tasks as directed by Credentialing Director, Project Manager, or Medical Director.

 

Qualifications

Required

  • Experience in healthcare administration, executive assistance, credentialing, provider relations, or clinical operations.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and calm.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a polished and professional tone.
  • High emotional intelligence, maturity, and the ability to work respectfully with physicians and senior leaders.
  • Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, digital file management, and online communication platforms.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with URAC standards, utilization review, or external medical review processes is helpful but not required.
  • Experience coordinating busy clinicians or executive-level professionals.
  • Experience with credentialing physicians

Work Environment 

  • Fully remote position.
  • Role is computer-based with extensive use of digital tools, case management systems, and online communication platforms.
  • Requires reliable internet access and the ability to work independently and productively in a virtual environment.
